Preventive Dental Care
Did you know most dental problems are preventable? Our preventative dental care program was created to help manage periodontal disease, preserve restored teeth and prevent cavities. During your initial visit, we will review your oral hygiene instructions and reinforce them at future dental visits.
Teeth with restorations (and natural teeth) have the longest survival rating in a sanitary oral environment and where the consumption of harmful foods are controlled. We recommend the following preventative dental care instructions:
- Brush your teeth two times daily
- Use a soft bristled toothbrush (towards the gum) in a circular motion
- Use fluoride and antiseptic rinses
- Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet
- Avoid smoking
- Dental Sealants placed on young permanent teeth
- Floss every evening in an up and down motion (in a U-shape against the surface of the tooth)
